This class has become a Laurel Run classic, and for good reason. Taught to nearly 700 students over the years, Simple Sautés, Sauces & Sides is a must for all busy cooks wanting to serve delicious food from scratch in a short amount of time. Armed with a Laurel Run Sauce Chart (which is interchangeable for many proteins and side dish ideas) turn out a gourmet meal in 30 minutes. In this demo class, learn how to properly quick-sauté thin cuts of meat and finish them with a simple pan sauce, including Chicken Cutlets with Orange-Rosemary Sauce and a Whole-Grain Mustard Cream Sauce; Pork Medallions with Port & Cherry Sauce; and Shrimp with Lemon-Caper Sauce.We will also make three versatile side dishes –easy rice pilaf, spaetzle and perfect mashed potatoes– as well as cover food prep and mise en place, stocking your pantry, kitchen organization and cooking techniques for meat. After this class, you’ll be turning out flavorful meals like a pro. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages, including wine and beer.
