  • Ages 7+; Hands-on class

  • Taught by Laura DePalma Isabella, Chef-Instructor 

In this hands-on class suitable for all ages, our Kids in the Kitchen will pair up with our Jr. Top Chefs to create a lovely brunch that they can replicate at home! First, we will discuss egg cookery and the myriad ways to prepare eggs, including  Creamy Scrambled Eggs with Chives as well as Eggs en Cocotte with Boursin & Toast Points (baked eggs with cheese and toast). Next, we’ll move on to quick breads – what they are and how to make different variations – with The Best Lemon-Blueberry Muffins and Orange-Cranberry Muffins. Finally, we’ll end the class on a sweet note, each young chef making DIY Fruit-&-Granola Yogurt Parfaits that can easily moonlight as dessert.

In Europe, children start helping their parents and grandparents cook as soon as they can stir. At Laurel Run, we offer them that opportunity to learn skills and confidence that will hopefully create a new generation of home cooks. We want them to have fun cooking and, at the same time, learn valuable culinary skills, kitchen organization, nutrition, food science, kitchen safety, and confidence.
